I found this article interesting because it truly encompasses the art of argument. I agree that argument is about people, and that the characteristics presented really make argument what it is. The three that I agree with the most are the fact that people argue to regulate uncertainty, a willingness to risk confrontation and a shared frame of reference. Sometimes I find myself presenting an argument or a point with people who have similar views to clear up any uncertainty I may have about my argument and then might present it to people who may not share the same views, but do have a background to know what I am talking about, thus having the same point of reference.
